  2. After: Read and annotate Quarter 4, Week 1 of 10. Attach to the next page of your INB.
  3. Then: Attach the blue EA1: Novel Presentation worksheet to the next page of your INB. Fold in half so that Part A and Part B are on separate sides. Annotate with an elbow partner (one person chooses A, the other chooses B to annotate).
  4. Next: Class discussion about schedule for the quarter, EA 1, and The Arrival.

  1. Do Now: Turn to WB p. 313 and complete all activities with your group. Read WB p. 314 and setup the graphic organizer from WB p. 315 in your INB. You will use this kind of graphic organizer for each meeting. So, get used to creating it!
  2. After: Use the following links to spark discussion in your reading group about why the author might have written the story. Take notes in your INB on the graphic organizer.

  1. Do Now: 10 minute revision session of your monologue literary analysis
  2. After: With a partner, practice your monologue. Your partner should use your blue EA 2 instructional worksheet to pre-assess your performance and give feedback.
  3. Then: Review of performance format (this will all count towards your time)
          • Introduce yourself
          • Introduce the title and character
          • Optional: Brief introduction to the scene
  4. Next: Setup audience evaluation page on the next page of your INB. Fold the page in half, then in half again. Title the page EA 2 Performances. Title the columns: Performance#, Ideas, Structure, and Language. During the performance, you will be commenting on each criteria using specific language from the rubric and examples from the performance.
Target Practice: I am ready to perform EA 2 next class and understand how to evaluate other performances as an audience member. Fist-5?
