      • how you will use your time to complete the essay by Friday

  3. Then: On the page your blue sheet is attached to, write today's date at the top-left. Then, create a 1 sentence argumentative claim for the image below. After, create three columns titled Ethos, Pathos, and Logos. While listening, write descriptive words to help you remember what each argumentative term means.

  1. Do Now: Choose which side of the Free Speech argument you identify most closely with:
    • Claim 1: Freedom of speech should not be censored in education.
    • Claim 2: Freedom of speech should be censored in education.
  2. After: After writing a more specific statement with your group, revisit Ethos/Pathos/Logos from last class and decide what images will be needed to support the claim ethically, emotionally, and logically. Create a Google Doc or Slideshow with five total images to Google Classroom. The five images should:
    1. Introduce the argument (Expansion of Free Speech in School)
    2. Make a claim about censorship
    3. Address the counterclaim
    4. Refute the counterclaim
    5. Close the argument and call the viewer to action
    6. Reminder: NO WORDS should be used in the images! However, you may include one sentence to clarify the meaning.
  3. Then: Open Discussion/Viewing of shared documents about Claims 1 and 2.
  4. Next: On your own: be prepared to begin working on a topic YOU are passionate about for EA 1: the Photo Essay.
