Draft 3 of the research paper due next Friday, November 8!

  3. After: Student-teacher conferences
  4. During: Revising Draft 2 and Editing a partner's paper with the checklist (A green sheet must be completed by a classmate by the end of class on Wednesday/Thursday)

Quarter 2, Week 2 of 10

Individual conferences will take place during class for the next two weeks! 
There will be one final round of group editing during the week of November 4-8, with the Final Draft due November 8!

Reminder: Draft 2 of the Research Paper is Due on MONDAY, OCTOBER 21!

Monday and Wednesday, October 14 and 16
Classwork
  1. Learning Objective: W 11-12.5, Develop and strengthen writing as needed by planning, revising, editing, rewriting, or trying a new approach, focusing on addressing what is most significant for a specific purpose.
  2. Do Now: In your journal, write the following prompt: Do you agree or disagree with the author's claim that the senior project is such a positive thing?
  3. After: Read the article and the comments.
  4. Then: In your journal, plan-out your response by identifying your claim, a counter-claim, and how you plan to refute that counter-claim (use the article and the comments to help with this)
  5. Next: Write the multi-paragraph essay!  Remember: You are arguing a point in this essay; so, use all of the information from the article, the comments, and your own personal beliefs.
  6. Target Practice: I can support my view about a topic, recognize that another view exists in opposition to my own, and refute it with effective evidence in a written essay. +/0/-
